A career built on experience.

Ranks, hours, accepted flights, landing feedback, activity rewards and all 36 company badge descriptions.

Build experience, complete meaningful journeys and use flight data to improve your technique.

Three ways to progress: operational points describe the available flight checks; career ranks use hours and accepted flights; activity bonuses recognise participation and completed journeys.

How we assess a landing

A low touchdown rate alone does not establish an excellent landing. A light contact can be appropriate; a prolonged flare, a long touchdown or excessive speed loss changes the assessment. A firmer contact must also be judged in context.

A320 family / Fenix: in stabilized conditions, Airbus describes flare initiation around 30 ft RA for the A320 and 40 ft for the A321. Conditions can require adjustment. Use progressive inputs and idle thrust by touchdown. Avoid extending the flare to chase softness; appropriate crosswind technique can include a small bank angle.

Boeing 767: Boeing’s FCTM warns against holding the aircraft off for an imperceptible touchdown. Preserve the intended touchdown point and airspeed, use appropriate flare inputs and controlled derotation, and avoid increasing pitch after touchdown.

Boeing 787: use the applicable 787 and add-on guidance. This rollout introduces no manufacturer “perfect FPM” target, pitch limit or G threshold for the 787. Aircraft geometry, implementation and telemetry must be considered separately. The review did not establish a verified current Fenix or 787-specific perfect-FPM target.

The automatic operational score is a limited procedural indicator. A complete landing grade requires evidence of the approach, target IAS relative to VAPP/VREF, touchdown position, aircraft handling and conditions. Groundspeed cannot substitute for IAS when assessing speed against VAPP/VREF.

Optional staff feedback: a VA review scale

The following weights and classes are our feedback policy, not manufacturer limits. A review uses only supported observations. If any category lacks adequate evidence, record not assessable and do not issue a complete numerical landing grade.

Observed category

Maximum

Approach stability and decisions

25

Target IAS and energy management

20

Touchdown zone and alignment

25

Flare, main-gear contact and appropriate handling

20

Controlled derotation and deceleration

10

For each category: full credit for correct handling, half for a minor corrected deviation, zero for a significant unresolved deviation. With complete evidence: 90–100 Excellent · 75–89 Good · 60–74 Needs improvement · below 60 Unsatisfactory. A significant safety issue overrides the arithmetic and requires an unsatisfactory assessment and review. A correctly flown go-around is good judgement.

The native review list now includes type-specific touchdown-rate and G overrides. Read the current scoring page for the displayed thresholds. These are VA review settings, not manufacturer maintenance-inspection criteria.Current review settings →

Bonus points show the journeys and community activities you have completed. Career progression uses the hours and accepted flights shown above. Compare achievements in their published context; a community hours challenge is a different measure from landing technique.

Your next objectives

  1. Get established: earn Humo Wings with your first accepted flight and work toward Central Asia Qualified through four accepted Induction-tagged flights.

  2. Choose your operation: start a mainline rotation, a regional line check, a cargo mission, an executive mountain itinerary or a helicopter assignment. Every division has a Curated completion reward.

  3. Build a long-term achievement: progress through a Grand Tour or the published rotation and Caspian Elite badge conditions.

Division crew badges

These automatic milestones count accepted/complete PIREPs on any network. Counts are cumulative across the fleets named in each row.

Requesting a badge that needs staff verification

Some rotation, Caspian Elite and expedition awards need manual verification. Use Pilot Support and provide your pilot ID, the badge name, accepted PIREP IDs and evidence matching the published conditions. Rotation claims need matching outbound and return sectors; FIR claims need the required actual crossings and direction, not only a planned route. Staff record the evidence, decision and award reference and check for an existing award before issuing one. Missing evidence remains pending.

Manual-award check · clarified 28 October 2026. vAMSYS permits repeated manual awards. Staff must check both the badge's current recipient list and the claim record before confirming an award, even when the pilot appears in the selector. If the pilot already holds the award, pause the claim for review instead of confirming another award. Record the reviewer, accepted PIREP IDs, evidence, decision, check time and award reference.

Automatic badges are evaluated when PIREPs are processed. The demanding Caspian Elite conditions remain in place. Badge ownership does not create a permanent per-flight points multiplier in this configuration.
